The Original Tree of Life Ceramic Necklace 

(or Ode to Charles Darwin in Ivory)

 I have been studying a bit about evolution and I just think Charles Darwin was the coolest! Yes, I know I am a total geek, but really folks...he came up with one of the most important theories in science AND he sketched out the first tree of life that mapped what he thought was a possible explanation of the evolution of species, a hypothesis that has been proven to be true. Its so exciting and interesting to me and I love it when art and science merge together. Yay for Darwin's theory and Yay for all the other evolutionary biologists and science geeks out there! Evolution kicks ass. :)

  This is a unique hand-formed and hand painted ceramic reproduction of Darwin's illustration of the tree of life made by Surly Amy at Surly Ramics. The design is painted in an ivory crackle glaze (with a slight tint of celadon) with black and white details. The pendant is approx. 2.25" h and has an 18" super soft black faux suede cord. The earrings are approx. .75"w x 1.5"h and have sterling silver posts. They are very lightweight and comfortable to wear.
